Kolkata Knight Riders beat Delhi Capitals to reach finals of IPL 2021 and booked their place against Chennai Super Kings. One of these two teams will win the trophy in Dubai!
This is the third time KKR is reaching IPL finals and KKR never loses in finals.
What a historic win for Kolkata. They were flying at one point, then fell at the death overs and seemed out of it, but they made it across the finish line. In the final few overs of this game, we were on the edge of our seats. Delhi gave it their all in the final few overs, certain they would win, but Kolkata won.
As the total score of the Delhi Capitals was not much. Venkatesh Iyer and Shubman Gil totally shattered Delhi’s bowling lineup. Iyer was the attacker, ensuring that the required rate did not blow out of hand, while Gill ensured that the strike rotated well. Iyer reached fifty before collapsing. But by then, the game appeared to be finished, and Kolkata appeared to be on its way to victory. But the departure of Gill when he was on 46 was a turning point. The batsmen who came in after that struggled to get off to a good start on this slow surface and nearly threw it away. They went from 123 for 1 to 129 for 5 in the last over, needing 7 runs. They even lost two wickets in the final over, and things looked terrible for them, but Rahul Tripathi hit the fifth ball into the stands to get them over the line.
