Kali Chaudas, a significant day dedicated to the worship of Goddess Kali, occurs a day before Diwali. This year, we will observe it on November 11, 2023. The day holds particular significance for tantric practitioners, who perform special pujas and seek blessings from the formidable Goddess Kali.
This day, also known as Narak Chaturdashi, Narak Nivaran Chaturdashi, or Roop Chaudas, venerates the fierce form of Goddess Shakti. Known as the destroyer of all negative aspects and evil elements, she embodies both destruction and regeneration.
This pooja holds great importance in the worship of Goddess Mahakali. In Gujarat, specific rituals are conducted on this day to ward off evil spirits, including offering food to appease them. A unique tradition is the oil bath, performed by all family members using hot water.
