Shiva Shankar, a well-known choreographer, died in Hyderabad on Sunday as a result of complications associated with Covid-19.
Shiva Shankar was admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad’s intensive care unit after testing positive for coronavirus. On Sunday evening, he passed away at the hospital.
The coronavirus was also found in Shiva Shankar’s wife and eldest son. Their wife is quarantined at home while his son is receiving treatment in the ICU.
Many prominent members of the Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi cinema industries, including Sonu Sood, Chiranjeevi, Dhanush, and the Movie Artists Association, gave financial support after hearing about Shiva Shankar’s health and financial situation.
Shiva Shankar is a choreographer who has worked on over 700 films in 10 Indian languages. For SS Rajamouli’s Magadheera, he got the National Film Award for Best Choreography (2009).
Rajamouli expressed his sorrow for Shiva Shankar’s death. “Sad to learn that renowned choreographer Shiva Shankar Master Garu has passed away,” he posted on Twitter. Working with him on Magadheera was a highlight of my career. May his spirit find eternal rest. “My heartfelt condolences to his family.”
