West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s helicopter made an emergency landing at Sevoke Airbase in north Bengal on Tuesday due to bad weather. Banerjee was heading to Bagdogra after addressing a public gathering at Krinti, Jalpaiguri.
The helicopter made the emergency landing at around 2:00 pm. There were no injuries reported. Banerjee is safe and is currently at the airbase.
The weather in the area was foggy, which caused low visibility. This is believed to be the reason for the emergency landing.
The helicopter is being inspected by engineers. Once the inspection is complete, it will be decided when Banerjee will be able to resume her journey.
