Chennai has bounced back magnificently from the disappointment of 2020, adding yet another trophy to their collection. After losing the toss, Chennai needed to get off to a good start. The task was completed by Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis. Chennai put a large total on the board thanks to Robin Uthappa and Moeen Ali’s determination to keep the tempo up.
Their bowling was poor at first, and MS Dhoni’s dismissal of Venkatesh Iyer for zero cost them the game in the first half.

Kolkata had a monster of a challenge to achieve, and they got off to a great start. Shubman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer gave an excellent platform of 91 runs once again, but the chase fell apart after Iyer’s exit. Rana appeared and vanished in a flash, and Narine, too, failed to contribute. Kolkata lost wickets in a continuous stream as Chennai put them under pressure on the scoreboard. Kolkata’s delicate core was teased by Chennai in the middle order, allowing them to take control of the final. This is the second time this has happened.
They lost two wickets in one over during the chase. Not only was defeat unfortunate, but it was also unavoidable.

Every final is special, and if you see stats we are the most consistent team to lose finals. Shares that they make a serious effort to improve in this area. Chennai should continue to work on it in the future.
They didn’t talk much, he says, and it was more about one-on-one sessions and a more relaxed environment. The pressure seems to start building the minute you enter a team room.
