Kolkata Knight Riders beat Rajasthan Royals by 86 runs
This is a fantastic victory for Kolkata, and it is just what they needed! With this win, they will very certainly be the fourth team to make the playoffs. Mumbai can still qualify, but they must defeat Hyderabad in their final game. Rajasthan’s season is coming to an end, and they will be dissatisfied with their next two games.
Kolkata had a very good total on the board, which they successfully defended. It was a team effort, and everyone contributed effectively. Shakib Al Hasan grabbed the first wicket and set the tone. Then, Shivam Mavi and Lockie Ferguson destroyed Rajasthan’s middle order, putting them in complete control of the game. Varun Chakravarthy bowled Chris Morris, and all of Rajasthan’s known batsmen were back in the hut. Lockie Ferguson grabbed three wickets, while Shivam Mavi took four. Varun Chakravarthy and Shakib Al Hasan each took a wicket, and it was a team effort.
Rajasthan’s top order was split, and they were much behind the speed. Rahul Tewatia landed a couple hits, but it was never going to be enough to even come close to the total. It was a bad performance from them, and it was not something they would have wanted in their final game of the season. Their performance against Mumbai in the last game was also poor, and Rajasthan will be disappointed.
