Family sources confirmed the passing of veteran Kannada actor-comedian Mandeep Roy on Sunday morning. He was 74 years old and had suffered a heart attack, leading to his admission to a private hospital where he passed away due to cardiac arrest.

With over 500 film credits to his name, Mandeep was a prominent figure in the Kannada film industry. He was originally from Bengal, but had made Bengaluru his home and had made a name for himself in the local film industry.

Actor and director Venkat Bharadwaj spoke about Mandeep, describing him as a talented Bengali actor who had left a lasting impact in the Kannada film industry.

The talented actor, who had roots in the theatre, left a lasting impact in Kannada films with his performances in “Minchina Ota,” “Pushpaka Vimana,” “Devara Ata,” “Naagarahavu,” “Aptha Rakshaka,” “Amrithadhare,” and “Kurigalu Saar Kurigalu.”
